Britney Spears 'Cannot Wait' For 'America's Best Dance Crew' Premiere

Season seven starts tonight at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV featuring performances set to the best Britney songs.

In anticipation of the epic season premiere of <a href="http://www.mtv.com/shows/dance_crew/season_7/series.jhtml">"Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew,"</a> MTV has been rolling out a few very extra special details via <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/mtv">Twitter</a>, the biggest one being that tonight's premiere will feature performances set to our favorite songs from pop princess <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/spears_britney/artist.jhtml">Britney Spears</a>. Spears <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/britneyspears/status/190197987526455298"> tweeted</a> out the good news herself. "Make sure you tune into #ABDC tonight on @MTV at 10/9C!" she wrote. "Heard they're closing show with Womanizer...CAN NOT WAIT to see what these crews do." <CENTER><embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:757793/cp~name%3Dnews%26id%3D1682822%26vid%3D757793%26uri%3Dmgid%3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A757793" width="430" height="242" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed></CENTER> This season, dubbed "Return of the Superstars," will feature nine all-new hip-hop dance crews and one returning past crew, a fan favorite from season two, Fanny Pak. "This is not Fanny Pak, it's Back Pack," joked judge J.C. Chasez. "It's a huge group now. When I saw Fanny Pak I think there were five members and now there are like eight or nine. I'm excited though because what I loved about Fanny Pak on the season they were on is that they don't rely strictly on their athleticism as dancers. They really work into the theme, they listen to what the music is saying." "I love Fanny Pak," fellow judge Lil' Mama said. "I think that they're fantastic as a crew, and when you're alumni and have been through the ropes you know what to expect, it gets tougher as you go along so and people bring their A-game, so we're hoping they can last through to the end because they're a good crew." This is the first time in the series' history a crew from a prior season will return to compete for the title. In addition, each episode will feature a different theme built around a popular celebrity artist, including Madonna, Rihanna, Pitbull, David Guetta, Flo Rida and LMFAO. Marquez secures home Moto2 pole

Qatar Moto2 race-winner Marc Marquez maintained his strong start to the season by securing pole position at Jerez. The Spaniard broke clear of a group of six riders, all of whom had been trading fastest times, with a 1m43.355s just under 20 minutes from the session's end. It was always likely that would be bettered, and so it proved as Marquez twice went faster, shaving more than three tenths off his benchmark.

Radiohead Brighten Coachella's Second Day

Career-spanning set features icons' newest tracks and older fan favorites.

INDIO, California — <a href="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/radiohead/artist.jhtml">Radiohead</a> brought their huge sound and eye-candy backdrop to the Coachella festival's polo fields Saturday night in a fairly mellow set, heavy with cuts from their latest offering, The King of Limbs. Amidst their newest tracks — including "Morning Mr Magpie," "Lotus Flower" and "Give Up the Ghost" — the British rock icons sprinkled tunes spanning much of their catalog, from Kid A rave-up "Idioteque" to In Rainbows' "Bodysnatchers" and "15 Step." Of "Karma Police," their first classic selection of the night, singer Thom Yorke said, "You know those people who are only talking to you because they want something from you? You need to take a cold shower afterwards." Radiohead, who last graced the polo fields in 2004, are also headlining <a href="/news/articles/1679241/bonnaroo-lineup-2012.jhtml">Bonnaroo</a> in June. The fivesome answered calls for an encore with longtime fan favorite "Lucky," "Reckoner" and the alternately soaring and intense "Paranoid Android." In response to last year's event selling out — a week after the 2011 lineup was announced — the festival is experimenting with hosting the same artists for two consecutive three-day weekends: April 13-15 and April 20-22. Google Chrome now uses SPDY HTTP replacement, halves page load time

We're not entirely sure of the time line here, but it looks like Google has now rolled out the SPDY HTTP replacement to its full bevy of Web services, including Gmail, Docs, and YouTube. If you're currently using Google's Chrome browser you're probably already using SPDY.

We originally reported on SPDY way back in November 2009, when Google introduced it as yet another experiment in making the Web faster, like Go, Native Client and speculative pre-connections. Over the last 18 months, though, SPDY support has found its way into the stable build of Chrome.

SPDY is basically a streamlined and more efficient version of HTTP. At its most basic, SPDY introduces parallel, multiplexed streams over a single TCP connection -- but at the same time, SPDY allows for prioritization, so that vital content (HTML) can be sent before periphery content (JavaScript, video). All in all, the SPDY protocol can halve page load times, which is obviously rather significant.

The best bit, though, is that SPDY is an open-source project. HTTP 1.1 is a lumbering beast that needs to be replaced before low-latency real-time computing really becomes a reality, and SPDY is one of the best options currently on the table. To be honest, we're not sure why SPDY hasn't received more coverage -- it's awesome in every way. At the moment, though, the only way to help speed up SPDY's proliferation, is with an experimental Apache mod.

As far as actually 'trying it out,' your best bet is downloading Chrome, hitting up some Google sites, and then checking chrome://net-internals to see your active SPDY sessions. SPDY is a transparent replacement for HTTP, though, and as such it's rather hard to see its effects. Google's sites definitely feel fast in Chrome, but there are more technologies than just SPDY at work.

Farragomate is a social fridge magnet game where you make up sentences

You know those fridge magnet kits composed of a whole bunch of words? The ones you put all over your fridge door and then try to arrange into all sorts of juvenile and/or amusing sentences. Well, Farragomate is the social, webby version of that very same pastime.

You get to play with a bunch of random strangers in real-time, and make up sentences out of a pre-set collection of words, including some fairly naughty ones, and all players' nicknames. As you can imagine, some of the results are not child-friendly.

There are ten rounds to a game. Once a round is done, players get to vote for their favorite sentence from that round. You can't vote for your own creation, of course. There's in-game chat, too.

I think the vocabulary could be made a bit more eclectic, but even as it is, it's a nice way to spend a few minutes and meet random strangers on the Internet (always a thrilling experience).

Burrito Bison is a simple game for gummy bear lovers

Burrito Bison is a pretty simple game, but if you're into gummy bears you might find it addictive.

As you may have guessed from the name, you're a bison (not a burrito, though). In the course of your day-to-day grocery shopping, you're abducted into a bag of gummy bears, and must now fend for yourself.

At the beginning of each round you launch yourself onto the marching gummy (gummi?) bears, while you're being watched by a huge crowd of even more gummy bears. Your goal is to keep bouncing on the bears and earn more and more money while you do it. Every time you hit a gummy bear, you lose some momentum. If you hit the floor, you basically lose all of it.

But don't give up just yet! You have an emergency thrust which you can use to gain some momentum and keep bouncing on those bears. This extra thrust gets refilled as you hit more bears.

There are also special gummy bears that give you extra thrust or extra money. The money comes in handy at the end of each round, when you can shop for cool stuff to make your bison even more effective against those gummy bears.

It's a fun and colorful game that kept my interest for quite some time, and almost sent me running to the closest store to get some gummy bears!

Adam Lambert's 'Whole Lotta Love': The Story Behind The Cover

Glam rocker tackled the legendary 1970 Led Zeppelin song for 'American Idol' rock night.

Imagine a freight train speeding toward you at midnight. Or a rockslide barreling down a hill as you try to outrace it. That's the feeling of the ominous, chugging Jimmy Page riff that kicks off <MTVNLINK type="url" id="http://www.mtv.com/music/artist/led_zeppelin/artist.jhtml">Led Zeppelin</MTVNLINK>'s 1970 Stonehenge of rock, "Whole Lotta Love." And that's before singer Robert Plant leans into one of the nastiest, ecstatic rock screams this side of the Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again." That's the song Adam Lambert chose to sing on <a href="/news/articles/1610708/adam-allison-shine-on-idol-rock-night.jhtml">"American Idol" rock night</a> Tuesday (May 5), and, needless to say, it was a challenge that the eyeliner-loving Los Angeles stage veteran was more than up for, hitting a series of high notes and rock screams that would have made Plant proud. It was a risky maneuver that paid off for Lambert, who chose a tune that came in at #75 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the "500 Greatest Songs of All Time" in 2004. <div style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; float: left;"> <embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtvmusic.com:84215" width="256" height="223" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="dist=http://www.mtvmusic.com" allowFullScreen="true" AllowScriptAccess="always"></embed></div> The legendary British rock act recorded the tribute to Chicago blues icon Willie Dixon during their second U.S. tour after working it out in their live show, including it on their 1969 classic album Led Zeppelin II. Like many of the songs Zeppelin performed early in their career, "Love" was a blues standard turned on its head with a heavy dose of crunching psychedelic guitar and thundering drums, courtesy of late drummer John Bonham. The song was based on a 1962 tune by another blues forefather, Muddy Waters, called "You Need Love," which was penned by Dixon. For Zeppelin's version, Plant customized the lyrics by adding some lyrical quotes from a few other songs Dixon wrote for Howlin' Wolf, "Back Door Man" and "Shake For Me," nailing the tricky vocal in a single take. It was also inspired by 1966's "You Need Loving" from the British rock group the Small Faces, for whom Zeppelin had great affection, but they also did not credit Dixon for his part in writing the original lyrics. The song became Zeppelin's first U.S. single and their only U.S. top 10 hit. Though their manager would not let them release singles in the U.K. because he thought it cannibalized album sales, the song was finally released as the band's only British single in 1997. Dixon sued Zeppelin over the song in 1985, claiming it borrowed too heavily from his "You Need Love," and Zeppelin reached an agreement with him, with Dixon using the money he received to set up a program that provided musical instruments for schools. A cornerstone of heavy rock, the tune -- which was the theme song for the long-running British countdown show "Top of the Pops" in the 1970s and '80s -- has been covered by dozens of artists over the years, from Tina Turner and Ben Harper to Prince, Slash, Leona Lewis, Train's Pat Monahan, the London Symphony Orchestra and Jane's Addiction. Nokia experiments with location-based white space services in Cambridge, UK (video)

Following news of the first successful white space trials in Cambridge, UK, Nokia is now touting its research in the area with a demonstration of location-based services for the unlicensed spectrum. Traditionally, proponents of white space usage have positioned this unused portion of the airwaves as a viable, low-cost method of data transmission, but the Nokia folks have now demonstrated its ability to pinpoint one's location with much greater accuracy than either WiFi or cellular networks. Think of it as a counterpoint to NFC, if you will, but in the following clip, we're shown how an individual might move throughout a museum, and as they approach various exhibits, one's smartphone could provide supplemental information for the nearby artifacts. Beyond its use in museums, Nokia also foresees the technology as useful in the retail space, where businesses may provide consumers with promotions as they walk by. Currently, the necessary equipment to make this all possible is much too large to fit within a typical smartphone, but Nokia hypothesizes that the necessary chipsets and industry standards may be in place by 2015. 'The Avengers' Tops the Charts Earning $178.4 Million

Earning more money than all of our nation’s biggest box-office hits combined this year, “The Avengers” staggered extremely impressive numbers with its international premieres.

Since its global debut in more than 30 countries on Wednesday, the action packed superhero film has earned an estimated $178.4 million - and, to top that off, it opened number one in every market.

The collaboration between Marvel and Walt Disney cost a whopping $220 million, but that high production fee is paying off - as it's set opening records in Mexico at $15.9 million and Brazil at $11.3 million, as well as Argentina, Ecuador, Peru, Central America and Bolivia.

More money is expected to come with its release in China, Japan and Russia. Better yet, its North American release is set for May 4 and expected to rake in more than $100 million in the first weekend.

The film stars Robert Downey Jr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans.
